    THE BIGGER PICTURE

According to the , the 46-year-old is in advanced talks with the struggling Sky Blues, who are just seven months removed from a magical run to the FA Cup semi-finals. It's been a turbulent ride since that agonising defeat to Manchester United, though, with Mark Robins losing his job on November 7 after winning just four of Coventry's first 14 Championship matches this season.

  • WHAT HAVE COVENTRY SAID?

The club's owner Doug King has faced criticism for his decision to sack the popular Robins, who also guided Coventry to the play-off final in 2022-23. But King has admitted he feared relegation to League One if he didn't act.

“I cannot have the risk of us getting relegated. Nobody thought Birmingham would get relegated – and they did. The next appointment is very important,” he said recently.

“You can argue that this was a big mistake [to sack Robins]. But I had to do something. And everybody will make their judgment clear.”
